"I remember it well" As a Mom of two now grown up kids, I cannot tell you how many times I have walked into my lovely painted rooms only to find that my kids have used the wall as a blank canvas for their artistic touches.
Let me tell you, wax crayons are the worst thing to remove from painted walls, and felt tip pens! well they speak for themselves.
If you are a parent that can relate to this yourself, we have a solution for you.
Our soap crayons are the easiest thing to make and will save you from the constant scrubbing or re painting.
These little wonders can be made in any shape or colour and only use 2 ingredients.
- Any uncoloured/unfragranced soap bar.
- Food colouring in your chosen shade.
METHOD:
- Carefully cut your soap bar into small chunks (the smaller the chunks are, the quicker they will melt).
- Place soap chunks into a large microwavable jug. Place jug into the microwave and heat on a medium setting for no more than 30 seconds. Remove the jug from the microwave ( be aware that the jug may be very hot) Stir the soap with a clean spoon or whisk. If the soap is not completely dissolved, place back into microwave and heat in 10 second bursts repeating the stirring until all of the soap chunks have melted.
- Once all of the soap has dissoved, you will need to work quite quickly as it sets pretty quick. Add whatever food colour that you have chosen and stir well to be sure the colour is well blended. If the soap is starting to form a skin, simply place back into the microwave and repeat the 10 second bursts as above.
- Now simply pour into your mould, be careful to pour slowly and avoid bubbles forming. Leave the soap for at least 12 hours before unmoulding to be sure that it has fully set.
- Give the kids your creation and let them go to work! The crayons clean away very easily with a soft cloth and standard cleaning spray.
* Please be aware that stronger colours may be a little more difficult to remove from matt paint, and we cannot be held responsible if the crayons are used on this type of surface.
So why not have a go and send us some pictures of your little ones creations "they will love them"
